It’s that time of year again! The UFS online registration is now open for students who want to make the most of their academic year. We have made some changes this year, so be sure to check out the website for all the important information. In addition to registering, be sure to check out our calendar for important dates and events. We hope to see you soon!

Application Closing Dates

  • 1 September Applications to study any University Access Programme (UAP) offered on the South Campus and the sub-regions
  • 31 May MBChB, Radiation Sciences, Optometry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Biokinetics
  • 31 July Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Nursing
  • 31 August International Undergrad applications
  • 30 September Geology, Forensic Sciences, Music, Social Work, Community Development, All non-selection programs, Application from students transferring from other tertiary institutions
  • 1 November Fine Arts
  • 30 November All University Access Programmes on the South Campus and the sub-regions

How To Register At UFS

  • STEP 1: Accept your offer of admission by visiting https://www.ufs.ac.za/studyoffer.
  • STEP 2: Log in with your student number and password on the Oracle PeopleSoft system
  • STEP 3: Go to the Tasks tile on the Student Homepage within the PeopleSoft system and click on the task. Under the “Tasks” tile will be an activity called “Registration 2024”.
  • STEP 4: Follow the different activities as listed on the left side of the Student Task WorkCentre page until the task is completed. The system will allow you to log out and return later to continue with the different activities until you have completed the task.
  • STEP 5: Please confirm that all of the modules (courses) for which you desire to register are reflected on your proof of registration. The Proof of Registration can be found on the Student Centre page, but it will also be emailed the day after you register.

The University of the Free State has been in operation for almost 115 years and has three campuses in the province: Bloemfontein, Qwaqwa, and South Campus.

Thousands of students attend UFS to take courses from the university’s 114 departments.
