The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) is seeking applications from students who wish to study at their institution during the upcoming academic year. UKZN offers a variety of courses for students to choose from, making it the ideal place for anyone interested in learning more about various subjects. The application process is simple and straightforward, with students only needing to fill out an online form and attach the necessary documents. After gathering all of the necessary information, UKZN will decide whether or not to admit the student.

  • All other programs must end on September 30.

UKZN Colleges

  • College of Humanities: School of Applied Human Sciences, School of Arts, School of Built Environment and Development Studies, School of Education, School of Religion, Philosophy, and Classics, School of Social Sciences
  • Engineering, Agricultural, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Chemistry and Physics, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science are all part of the College of Agriculture, Engineering, and Science.
  • College of Health Sciences: School of Clinical Medicine, School of Laboratory Medicine & Medical Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Nursing & Public Health
  • Graduate School of Business and Leadership, School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance, School of Law, School of Management, IT, and Governance are all part of the College of Law and Management Studies.

How to Implement

  • The Central Applications Office is the only place where you can apply (CAO)
  • Applicants with a South African Matric/NSC should also apply through the CAO.

Please keep in mind to include the following documents (where applicable):

  • A certified copy of your ID/passport.
  • Certified copy of your National Senior/Matric Certificate, O/A Levels, or other relevant school leaving qualification/certificate.
  • If you are an international applicant, you must provide proof from Universities South Africa (formerly known as HESA) that you are eligible for admission to degree studies at South African universities. The undergraduate prospectus contains additional information.
  • Certified copies of your degree certificate(s), academic record, and certificate of conduct, if you attended other universities.
  • Proof of English proficiency is required for international applicants from non-English speaking countries.
  • The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluates previous qualifications obtained at foreign universities (outside South Africa).
  • If you are applying for a master’s or Ph.D., you must submit a research proposal/proposed title for your dissertation/thesis.
  • If you are an international student, you must have a valid study visa to study in South Africa.
  • Please ensure that you have read the guidelines above before applying online.
  • Please ensure that you have all of the HESA/SAQA documents needed to complete your application.
  • When paying the application fee, please use the reference APPN (followed by your student number).
  • Please give the system 24 to 48 hours to process your payment.
